DIY Valentine's Day Cards & Coloring Too

Okay friends. Whether we like it or not, Valentine's Day is here and some of us are terrible at making sure they plan ahead and pick up cards and candy and all of that Valentine's Day goodness. The rest of you might have your acts together, but want to make adorable Valentine's Day cards because you can. We're going to make everyone happy here with this quick DIY Valentine's Day cards tutorial. Everyone can have some cute V-Day cards to give out.

This coloring page is one of the freebies that I offer every month on the Patreon page (a.k.a. the KBG Coloring Club). I really do want everyone to be able to join in a little. This one was fun to color. I got to mess around with a different brand of colored pencils too so that was nice.

Materials Needed:

  • Valentine's Day coloring page - Print out your copy here.
  • 3 - 4 pieces of construction paper (any 8.5 x 11 paper is fine. Whatever floats your boat.)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Markers/Pens/Colored Pencils/Crayons etc.

Step 1: Print out your coloring page and color it in using the art supplies of your choice.

Step 2: Cut out your colored in pictures. If you use giant scissors like I did, make sure you go super slow. I suggest using smaller scissors.

Step 3: Fold your construction paper in half & then in half again. You will have a quartered piece of paper... our cards will open from the bottom up. Make sure the paper you use isn't 4,000 years old because old paper is more difficult to work with and will rip every time you try to gingerly fold it.

Step 4: Glue your colored in pictures to the cards. Less is more regarding the glue. I forgot. Wait for the glue to dry before photographing them, so they're not all wrinkly.

Step 5: Write your Valentine's Day message inside the card & give them to people you love... or at least some people that you like.

Here are the photos of all of those steps in case you need to see it too. I had fun with this project, and the cards come out really cute. Happy Valentine's Day!
