Last fall I was playing around with easy to make hand puppets. I was looking for a design that was quick to make and fun to play with. Half of my wish came true. The puppets were so fun to play with… still took forever. The cost effectiveness of my new puppets was silly and after figuring out a cute one-eyed version, I wanted to elaborate on the design and get a crochet pattern out.
These puppets may be my all time favorite crochet pattern design that I have ever come up with. Scratch that. They are my all time favorite design. I’ve been quietly designing and testing these patterns for the KBG Patreon page. I wanted to make a really cool crochet pattern for anyone who supports my Knot By Gran’ma crochet pattern designing. These guys fill that goal.
It feels like I’ve been working on releasing this pattern for more months than I care to admit. This has been one heck of a ride and probably the most fun I’ve had in designing a crochet pattern… ever. This
I finished my monster puppet today. I am so happy, I could do a cartwheel. I won’t do a cartwheel though. My wrist hurts from what I’m imagining to be complete-overuse-itis. A cartwheel could be disastrous. I’ll put some ice on my wrist and rest while imagining the cartwheels I could do, due to my happiness in finishing this monster puppet. That sounds like a better plan. I am really happy about finishing this guy though. For real. Not happy enough (or finished with the crochet pattern and video enough) to give a full on reveal, but that should happen next week sometime. In the meantime I’m teasing you with this yarn eating shot.
