I ordered this undyed yarn months and months ago. Then life got in the way, and it just sat there… waiting for me to dye it into cool yarn. I’ve finally figured out a system that allows me to get a little done at a time. These 2 new colorways are pretty sweet, and hopefully will be repeatable. The third colorway is still in its pan. I’ll rinse it out tomorrow night. It should be ready to list in a few days, but for now, back to these 2 beauties.
I won’t lie. I kind of freaked out a little when I took the Cheeseburger Party Bus yarn out of the sink once it was rinsed. There seemed to be more white than I wanted. I was hoping that the colors would have blended a bit more. Reskeining to the rescue, even though it’s a pain in the ass because I don’t have a ball winder or a swift! It’s a nice white yarn with pops of color throughout. You can see the mini swatches at the bottom of this post.
The Marigold Whoopty Whoop was just perfect. This yarn has less white in it. The kelly green and emerald green are bright and lovely… and made this cool blue when it mixed with the pumpkin orange. I love colors. For real. This is like watercolor painting with yarn.
I decided at the last minute to whip up some mini crochet and knit samples. They’re mini, because I didn’t have a lot of yarn to play with after the reskeining. I’ll be sure to fix them once I get a chance. I’m keeping a hank of each for myself, because they need to be turned into cool and amazing crochet kits. For now, I’ll cringe every time I see the knitting swatches. Man, I need to get some knit practice time in. It definitely doesn’t come naturally. This was the best little swatch after trying it 3 times. I think my tension is off on the first and last stitches of each row.
There are several hanks of each yarn available. You can find them here.
