This is the year. It’s been decided. I’ll have a book out by the end of the year. It’s going to be a self published, crochet pattern book. It’s called, “Monsters That Could Totally Eat You.” I’m going to have it available as a real life book and an ebook (I can do both, right?). This is a very exciting time, and I’m not sure why I’ve been making excuses as to why I couldn’t start right away. I tend to sabotage myself when it comes to projects that I really want to complete. Anyone else do that?
The plan is to have a monster a month completed… on top of my other Knot By Gran’ma work. I started to freak out when I realized what I had planned, but I can do it. Also, the world won’t end if I fall behind on the other patterns and dolls that I want to crochet. I need to remember that. It’s like video games. Nothing real happens if you lose to Mario Kart. You just try again, and hope your 6 year old doesn’t kick your ass.
In the next few weeks I have to start looking for a pattern tester to work exclusively on the book patterns.
I’m planning on creating nine monsters (that could totally eat you) to fill up my pattern book. I realize that it’s not too many, but they all will be pretty involved as far as the crochet patterns go. Each one should have a back story and some sort of artsy photograph to go with the crochet pattern. This pink monster is the official number one design. I find myself excited when I have time to work on him/her.
Stay tuned for next month’s quick look at the second monster.
